Schengen Visa (Short Stay)

Complete your own application form online — only then will you receive a form with a unique code. Forms without this code may cause issues while processing your application, so don't use someone else's form.

Must not be more than 10 years old, have at least 2 blank visa pages, be valid for at least 3 months after your departure from the Schengen area, and be signed.

For example: a copy of all used pages of your Hukou (no translation needed), or a permanent residence permit for foreigners valid for at least 3 months after your departure from the Schengen area. If you're not a resident of the country where you're applying, you must show why you can't apply in your country of residence instead.

Employee: a colour copy of your employer's business licence, plus an original letter from your employer (English, or Chinese with an English translation) on official company paper with a stamp, signature, and date, stating the company's address/phone/fax, the countersigning officer's name and position, your name/position/salary/years of service, and approval for your leave. Retired: a colour copy of proof of pension or other regular income. No fixed income: if married, a colour copy of your spouse's employment/income letter plus an original notarised marriage certificate with an Apostille; if single, divorced, or widowed, a colour copy of any proof of regular income; if self-employed, a colour copy of a business permit or income tax return plus 3 months of bank statements; if a student, a colour copy of proof of enrolment stating your area of study and the programme's duration. If none of these apply: for example, proof you're a caregiver, own a home or other property, or have children attending school in your country of residence.

Proof of where you'll be staying for the whole duration of your intended stay. If you can, also bring other documents showing your travel program — for example, transportation bookings and your itinerary.

Bank statements from the last 3 months. Bank statements from a deposit account will not be accepted.

You don't need a paid travel ticket.

Must state that the insurance covers all Schengen area countries for your entire stay, and covers at least €30,000 in medical expenses (hospital stay/treatment, emergency care, prescription medication, and repatriation, including in the event of death).

The child's student card; a letter from the child's school stating the school's full address and telephone numbers, permission for the child's absence, and the name and function of the person giving that permission; and a notary certificate of family relations or proof of guardianship, with an Apostille.

A recent extract of the child's birth certificate; a consent form signed by the parent(s)/guardian(s) not travelling with the child; a signed valid travel document of the parent(s)/guardian(s) not travelling; if one of them holds a valid Schengen visa, the biographical data page of their passport and of that visa; a death certificate if a parent/guardian has died; official proof of guardianship if a guardian has been appointed; and permission from the court if there is a court order in place.
