Student (degree-level study)

Per Immigration Rules Appendix Student: your CAS must be issued by a sponsor whose licence is still valid (rule ST 7.1), must not have already been used in a previous granted or refused application (ST 7.2), and the sponsor must not have withdrawn your offer after issuing it (ST 7.3).

Published rates (outside London: £1,171/month; London: £1,529/month), for up to 9 months of your course. How you prove this depends on how you're funding your studies: if using your own, a parent's, or a partner's money, you must have held the required amount for at least 28 days in a row, ending no more than 31 days before you apply; a student loan is proved with a loan letter instead; an official financial sponsorship is proved via your CAS reference number alone, unless that sponsorship isn't recorded on your CAS, in which case you also need a confirmation letter from the sponsor.

You'll be given a chest X-ray (and a sputum test if that result isn't clear) at an approved clinic. The resulting certificate is valid for 6 months from the date of your X-ray — include it with your application.

Accepted evidence includes a UK school qualification, a UK degree, a degree taught in English (assessed by Ecctis), or a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider — or, if your course is with a Higher Education Provider, that provider's own assessment.
